These products combine traditional stun gun technology with Electro Muscular Disruption (EMD) and have nearly a 100% effectiveness rating.  EMD weapons are more powerful that traditional stun guns and can completely take control of the central nervous system. This causes immediate contraction of the body's muscles, even in attackers than are resistant to electric shock.  In police studies, a TASER® device had more instant knock down power than a 9mm hand gun.  The weapon uses a replacable cartridge containing compressed nitrogen.  The nitrogen is used to propell two small probes that are attached to the unit by insulated conductive wires.  These wires are 15 feet long making the TASER® device effective self defense even at a considerable distance.  The probes and wires deliver 50,000 volts at up to 26 watts (nearly twice the level of a traditional stun gun) to the attacker forcing him to the ground in a fetal position.  Not only allowing you to defend yourself and your family from up to 15 feet, the TASER® device is also capable of doubling as a stun device in a more close quarter attack.

The cartridges also have unique serial numbers and are equipped with an Anti-Felon Identification system which discharges 20-30 serialized paper tags when deployed.  Law enforcement can later retrieve this confetti from the scene of the assault and contact TASER® International to get the name of the owner of the device.  This allows police to track any possible misuse.
